There are various methods for producing man-made crystal, primarily categorized into "thermal manufacturing" and "cold cutting" processes. Thermal manufacturing involves melting the raw materials and pouring the molten crystal into molds to cool and set. While this method is cost-effective and suitable for mass production, the cooling process often results in air bubbles and flow lines, leading to slightly inferior clarity and brilliance.

The cold cutting process—also known as diamond cutting—operates on principles similar to diamond faceting. Prefabricated crystal blanks are first cut to the required size and then shaped through multiple stages using grinding discs of varying grit levels. This method yields crystals with sharp, distinct facets and exceptional clarity and brilliance; however, it is more labor-intensive and less efficient, resulting in a higher price point.
